چکیده
rational emotive behavior therapy (rebt) is based on the concept that emotions and behaviors are results of cognitive processes. there is a possibility for the human being to gain better ways for feeling and behavior in case of amending many processes. rebt is one of cognitive-behavioral therapies which is very much like cognitive therapy developed by aaron t. beck in 1960 although it’s separate development rout. in the mid-1950s, dr. albert ellis who had learned clinical psychology and psychoanalysis was despondent by progress of his patients. but he observed once they change their mindset about their problems and themselves, they are more likely to improve. what this article is focused on is that, ellis argues that if the therapy is focused on client’s beliefs, improvement progress gets accelerated. therefore, he established the so called rational emotive behavior therapy (rebt).
